In Design, the bonmot-ifyed "Form follows function" conceals the fact that this function extends beyond a specific use. But design happens largely in that 'beyond'.
Every thing is a subject, every thing in our surroundings impacts our experience.
We intuitively respond to the tacit language of shapes, textures and materials.
SUB Vessels are an ongoing series of large-scale sculptural volumes that tap into these visceral, preconscious conversations.
Their fluid, complex shapes are affectionate. Beauty, as a sensation of affection, is the desire to linger in order to (be)hold. To me, to live with beauty means to live in surroundings that I want to linger in, that inspire focus and care.
