Klinke is a high performance tableware design focused on locality, on terrain. Municipal archives of topographical maps led me to Kreuzberg’s actual Berg, now the Viktoriapark hill, as the Ur-Form for Klinke. Pebbly beaches and craggy cliffs informed its aesthetic.
Derived from these topographies, the different shapes come in a variety of natural clay earths, resulting in table-scapes that sit between still life and landscape.
Despite contrasts in texture, volume and colour, the indulgent, playful forms exude calm serenity.
